BEMER – a Global Success Story

The BEMER story begins in 1998 in a small office in Vorarlberg, Austria, where Peter Gleim founded INNOMED International AG. INNOMED focused on the research and development of microcirculation products. What followed was an unparalleled success story of patented technologies, multiple industry leading products, and global expansion. In 2010, INNOMED International AG was renamed BEMER Int. AG. Today, BEMER is a leading medical technology company with over 30,000 independent distributors, in 29 countries around the world, and a market leader in the field of microcirculation treatment methods.

The Bodycote Group, headquartered in Macclesfield/UK, has over 150 locations in 22 countries. Around 40 employees work at the site in Schaan, Liechtenstein. Bodycote was founded as a family business at the beginning of the 20th century and has developed over the years through organic growth and strategic acquisitions into a leading international provider of heat treatment services with more than 5,000 employees worldwide. Bodycote Rheintal’s core business includes numerous heat treatment processes, joining and surface technology processes and hot isostatic pressing. Heat treatment is an important part of many manufacturing processes and involves a range of different technologies and specially developed processes that help to improve the properties of metals or alloys. For example, Bodycote Rheintal’s globally active customers from the aerospace and energy sectors benefit from a network of locations with a specially coordinated range of services, while customers from the automotive industry and the tool and machine construction sectors find spatial proximity, convenience and flexibility. With certifications IATF 16949:2016 for the automotive industry, ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 management for occupational health and safety, Bodycote Rheintal complies the high demands of its customers. The Schaan site offers laboratory testing and a transport service for its customers as an additional service.

Dorbena AG is one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality bedding in the German-speaking area. The owner-run company produces and distributes duvets and pillows as well as mattress toppers and protective covers under the DOR® brand and the CHRISTIAN FISCHBACHER licence brand. In addition, own-brand ranges are designed and manufactured for selected customers. The product mix comprises 75 % down and feather bedding, 20 % synthetic fibre products and 5 % natural and animal hair bedding. The fully-integrated production is run in accordance with ecological criteria; the decades of know-how, the high quality of the products and the short innovation times are valued by partners in the domestic market, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, and increasingly in the export area. After Switzerland, the key sales markets are the US, Germany and South Korea. Dorbena AG is a member of the Swiss Bedding Manufacturers’ Association (VSB) and furthermore certified in accordance with ISO 9001, 14001 und 45001.

With around 600 employees, Dr. Risch is one of Switzerland’s leading providers of laboratory medicine services. The laboratory offers an excellent range of analyses and services covering all areas of modern laboratory medicine. With over 20 locations and proven digital services, the company ensures reliable, regional laboratory care around the clock for clinics, doctors, medical practices, and other healthcare providers.

Founded in 1970 by Dr. Gert Risch, the private laboratory has been part of the leading network of regional laboratories under the Sonic Suisse brand since March 2024, together with Medica, Medisyn, and the Medisupport network.

Leading in magnetic tape production: The development and production of the ELGO Group’s magnetic tape technology is located at ELGO Batscale AG. Meanwhile, 6,000,000 meters of magnetic tape leave our production every year to be used in elevator systems and automation technology applications worldwide.

Market leader in shaft information systems: To ensure the safety and reliability of elevator systems, ELGO Batscale AG develops and produces SIL3 certified sensor systems. Meanwhile, more than 950,000 elevator systems worldwide have been equipped with our shaft information systems.

FMA Mechatronic Solutions AG comprises four business areas: VAC-tec – reliable high-tech system supplier for customer-specific mechatronic solutions for the vacuum industry, where the highest purity, precision and quality are required. HYDRO-tec – customised mechatronic systems are manufactured for renowned customers in the water industry and delivered directly to the end customers. VAR-tec – customer-oriented services in the engineering and manufacture of mechatronic assemblies and systems for various customers from different industries and sectors. MED-tec: As a ISO 13485 certified company, we specialize in manufacturing non-invasive medical devices.

The Ospelt Group is an established name in Europe in both the food and pet food sectors. Using the most modern equipment, the traditional family business produces a wide range of products for every type of diet. LIECHTENSTEIN WÄRME is implementing a very important part of Liechtenstein’s energy strategy with its gas and heating projects. In addition to the growth in heat supply, gas supply is and remains an important part of the solution to the often-discussed climate problem. Nearly 5’000 customers in Liechtenstein use natural gas / biogas in an energy-efficient manner for heating, domestic hot water and industrial processes. To ensure that this remains the case, the gas supply is also undergoing a transformation process in which natural gas will be systematically ecologised. Gas will play an increasingly important role in the energy-efficient and environmentally friendly generation of electrical energy. Liechtensteinische Kraftwerke (LKW) is the electric power supplier for Liechtenstein. LKW produces around 20% of Liechtenstein’s total electricity consumption with twelve of their own hydropower stations and around 30 photovoltaic plants, and ensures highest quality in local electricity and communication networks. As telecommunications network provider, LKW is responsible for operating and maintaining Liechtenstein’s fiber optic network. The Elkuch Group is a family-owned business that grew from its founding nucleus and headquarter at Ludwig Elkuch AG into an internationally operating group of businesses. In 1895, Daniel Swarovski founded a crystal processing company in the Tyrolean village of Wattens in Austria. Swarovski went on to become the world’s leading manufacturer of precision-cut crystals and one of the most important jewellery producers. The business unit thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components is one of the leading automotive suppliers and development partners for highly complex drivetrain technologies. Around 3,800 employees produce 24 million drivetrain components a year at ten locations in Germany, Liechtenstein, Hungary, China, USA, Brazil and Mexico. The product range mainly comprises assembled camshafts, valve train systems and rotor shafts for high-end combustion, hybrid and electric engines. Further products for battery electric vehicles are already at an advanced stage of development. VP Bank has an international presence, with locations in Vaduz, Zurich, Luxembourg, Singapore and Road Town (British Virgin Islands).
